The Danzig Highflyer is a breed of fancy pigeon developed over many years of selective breeding. Danzig Highflyers, along with other varieties of domesticated pigeons, are all descendants from the Rock Pigeon (Columba livia).

Danzigs are of a medium size , have a crest , a scoop tail with ideally between 14-18 wide feathers . They have a destictive head shape which is best described as fairly straight from the top of the head to the beak / cere . They come in most colours and patterns and the premium birds are in Europe where they have a good following .

It is thought this breed had its origin in the vicinity of Danzig, Poland in 1807. Other sources point to the ancient province of Galacia.
